I have the honour to enquire whether the

proposals for the transfer of certain areas of War Department land and Military Reserve to the Colonial Government contained in my despatch No.262 of the 17th July have received your

I consideration, as the Military Authorities desire to proceed

with the transactions.

With regard to the transfer of the Victoria Battery site I am informed by the Military Authorities that the War Office do not in present circumstances propose to

proceed with the negotiations for its transfer.
